EULAR: No Cancer Risk Observed With RA Biologics
LONDON – Biologic agents used to treat arthritis do not appear to have any greater risk of cancer than other treatments for the disease, a nine-year registry analysis showed.The risk of cancer was not statistically different whether a patient was taking anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) biologic agents or other treatments for arthritis (RR=1.03, 95% CI 0.82 to 1.30, P=NS), said Lene Dreyer, MD, PhD, from Gentofte Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark.Overall, the relative risk was not increased in
